50,000 M2 of theme park and Wild West theme nights just outside Puerto del Carmen. The history of Rancho Texas Park is quite astounding. In 1731, Canarian emigrants established the city of San Antonio in Texas. 40 of these emigrants were from Lanzarote. They were the first ascendents of the actual State of Texas, USA. The first mayor was from Lanzarote. Many Canarian descendants fought and died in the Battle of Alamo. Rancho Texas Park, Lanzarote, captures this time with all the adventure and excitement of the old wild west.
It's best to think of the park as two separate places. The daytime theme park cum zoo is an educational yet fun day out for everyone. The animals on display are what you could expect to find in the wild west - the fairly innocent buffalo, deer and horses, to armadillo, panthers and eagles.
Every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night, the park hosts the Country & Western theme night. It's a fully inclusive evening of food, beer and sangria. There is on-tap entertainment with cowboys and indians, saloon girls, and linedancing. Children's activities include games and horseriding.
