Situated on the seventeenth floor of the five star Arrecife Gran Hotel is the Star's Bar pub, with panoramic views over Arrecife, Playa Reducto, the Atlantic Ocean and Lanzarote.

Pub Star's Bar is one of the many hidden treasures to be found on the island and is of course gay friendly. Waiter service runs all day, so you can relax and enjoy the amazing views. The bar prices are very reasonable, both for a five star hotel, and for Lanzarote. There are two smoking terraces, along with the Altamar sky view restaurant just next door.

• When visiting take the glass lift to the roof for that "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" feeling.
• Underground car parking is available - keep the heat off things for a while.
