Are there any pictures or photographs showing the Carnival ?

Lanzarote Carnival 2010, takes over the whole island.

The Carnival in Arrecife runs from 5th to the 17th of February.

The main parade in the Capital Arrecife, takes place on Monday 15th February 2010, and then following week, the resort town of PDC, Costa Teguise, and Playa Blanca join in the fun

Every year Carnival has a theme, this years theme has been decided by the festivals committee to be based on the late king of pop, Michael Jackson, with the Carnival parade costumes depicting the magic and fun of MJ over the decades. The full programme of events, and times will be available closer to Carnival, keep an eye out for updates.

* 13th February is the Lanzarote Carnival Queen 2010
* 14th February is la gala elección de la Reina del Carnaval – Lanzarote Drag Queen 2010
* 15th February is the main Carnival parade
* 17th February is la sardina muerta – The mourning parade, and the end of the Carnival.

So don't think it strange if whist you are on holiday a couple of hundred zombies moonwalk past you on the way to the beach to the sound track from thriller, it could be just Zombie Pride, Carnival, or clubbers heading to bed.

I know you posted your message yesterday, but today is 5th Jan, and the 5th Feb is only one month away. Best get sorting through your frilly frocks!

Frilly frocks? I don't remember Michael Jackson every wearing one, Julian may not be able to count (sorry J) but you can't say that MJ wore frocks, did you mean Julian? if so that's cool, he does look better in a frock than jeans...

Ha Ha, very funny boys. I've two outfits to find, a frock (YES a frock) for the Lanzrote Carnival Drag Queen of 2010, I'm not sure over to wear a hat, tiara, crown or have big hair... And the second outfit is for the big carnival parade on the 15th, King of Pop Michael Jackson, I think I can knock up a Jackson five outfit from the curtains in my apartment, just need another four, any takers?
