Costa Teguise is a Lanzarote resort were many hotels have direct access to fine golden sand beaches. It is an excellent base for water sports enthusiasts, and a great place to explore Lanzarote from.

Location

Costa Teguise is to the north of Lanzarote, only 20 minutes from the airport, and 10 minutes from the historic capital of Teguise.

Beaches

Costa Teguise has beaches with fine golden sand, they are all well maintained. Many of the hotels in Costa Teguise have direct access to the beach.

Attractions

Ten minutes away you will find the historic Lanzarote capital of Teguise. A welcome break from the coast, especially on market days, they have a very imformative website www.teguise.com. The resort is also very well located for access to attractions in the north of Lanzarote, such as Cuevas de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and Jardín de Cactus.

Sport

Costa Teguise is very close to the original 18 hole golf course on Lanzarote, but its also perfect for windsurfing, a sport which is popular with locals and tourists. Classes and courses are available.

Shopping  

There are plenty of shops around the main tourist area, where you can buy anything from perfulme and jewellery to electricals and gifts. There are a number of small supermarkets which are handy for self catering holidays.

History

Costa Teguise is a fairly recent resort, making a footing in the tourism industry in the 1970s. As with the rest of the island, Costa Teguise has been carefully managed and is still a pristine resort.

Eating

Being a recent development, there are plenty of restaurants, catering for almost all tastes including Chinese, Indian, Local, British and take-away.

Night Life

Rather lively night spots are located in Costa Teguise, has a wide selection of bars of both British and local style.

Transport

Buses and taxis are available to many parts of the island (though some bus journeys may require a change in Arrecife). Bus service Linea 03 Puerto del Carmen – Playa Honda – Arrecife – Costa Teguise.

The resort is also well located on the road network for access to the whole of Lanzarote.
