Playa del Janubio is a medium grain black sandy beach with small lava stones. It is very windy with strong waves and currents. The beach was created by the mass of volcanic material, that now encloses the Janubio lagoon. The beach is situated beside the Salinas, salt pans, and the area is designated as protected under the biosphere reserve.
Caution: due to the strength of the sea here, it is a very dangerous place to swim
