Lanzarote’s largest holiday resort, Puerto Del Carmen has 6 km of golden sandy beach with an equally long promenade with shops restaurants cafés bars nightclubs and LGTB+ club.
It’s just a ten-minute drive from Arrecife Airport to Puerto Del Carmen. It’s a very large resort, but also very central for getting to other parts of Lanzarote.
As with much of the island, PDC has grown from a small fishing village, the old town and harbour are still intact and form the central part of the resort.
The resort has grown radically over the last 30 years to stretch along the whole 6 kilometres of sandy beaches, but as with the rest of Lanzarote, it has retained the look and feel which Cesar Manrique intended.
The beaches of Puerto Del Carmen are truly splendid, and all carry the Blue Flag awarded by the EEC for cleanliness.
The waters surrounding the eastern-coast of Lanzarote are some of the most tranquil in the Canary Islands.
Puerto Del Carmen has a number of diving and windsurfling schools, swimming, cycling and running are also popular, with many hire shops for cycles.
The Lanzarote IronMan triathlon, a major international athletics event, both start and end on Avenida de Las Playas.
As befits such a mecca for tourists, there are a wealth of shopping opportunities available, whether you want to peruse the tourist offerings of the main Beach Avenue or fancy something a bit more upmarket in the new Biosfera shopping complex. Everything is available from Duty free Electronics equipment, local Arts and Crafts through to Luxury designer clothes and shoes.

Book your tickets to The Starlight Cinema to enjoy a comfortable outdoor cinema experience – two feature films per night starting at sunset. Rancho Texas Park is also on the doorstep of Puerto del Carmen,
Avenida de Las Playas alone boasts over 100 restaurants with menus to suit all tastes and budgets from Fast Food, through to Gourmet menus.
Puerto Del Carmen boasts an almost riotous nightlife. You will be able to find an event or venue to suit almost every taste. LGTB+ bar and club Punto is in the C.C. Atlantico.
In PDC, you’re also not far from the famous Music Hall Tavern for a comedy drag evening.

Taxis are in abundance, also plenty of car hire offices, short drive to the Airport.
